Role OverviewWe are hiring a Materials Manager for a high-volume food & beverage manufacturing facility operating under strict sanitation and quality standards. This role is responsible for leading materials execution on the plant floor, ensuring the right ingredients are available at the right time to support daily production without disruption.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on leadership, deep inventory control experience, and a solid understanding of materials flow in regulated manufacturing environments.
What You'll Be Responsible For Day-to-Day Materials ExecutionLead the plant materials function, including frontline supervisors and hourly team members
Set daily work priorities and staffing plans based on production and blending needs
Run short, focused daily team huddles to review workload, risks, and execution gaps
Work directly with production and blending teams to align materials with daily schedules
Ensure timely staging and transfer of ingredients to support uninterrupted manufacturing
Adjust material plans quickly in response to schedule or volume changes
Oversee accurate issuing of ingredients, including correct quantities, lots, and documentation
Enforce FIFO / FEFO inventory practices and expiration controls
Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages, waste, or production downtime
Ensure accurate material transactions and consumption reporting within an ERP system
Maintain complete and accurate material documentation required for quality review
Support full material traceability in alignment with food safety and regulatory expectations
Partner closely with Production, Quality, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams
Communicate material risks or constraints early and drive resolution
Provide materials input during production planning and scheduling discussions
Support continuous improvement efforts tied to inventory accuracy and material flow
Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety programs, and sanitation requirements
Participate in audits, investigations, and corrective action activities as needed
5 years of experience in materials management, inventory control, or supply chain within food, beverage, or regulated manufacturing
Experience supporting high-sanitation or aseptic operations preferred
Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and inventory best practices
Proven ability to lead plant-floor teams in fast-paced environments
Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable making real-time decisions
This is a hands-on plant leadership role, not a corporate or planning-only position
Requires daily interaction with production, quality, and warehouse teams
Onsite role supporting a live manufacturing operation
