What are the responsibilities and job description for the IMMEDIATE NEED -Center Assistant/Grader position at Kumon of Odessa?
Kumon, the world's largest after-school enrichment program, seeks energetic Part-time Kumon Center Assistant for the Odessa– Trinity center's after-school math and reading program.
Center hours are Mondays & Thursdays 3:30 pm-7:30 pm so must be available to work those hours.
QUALIFICATIONS: Strong organizational skills and able to multi-task, punctual & reliable, creative thinker who can motivate and engage with students; Solid knowledge of proper Kumon method/work skills once trained & detail oriented. Must enjoy working with children & guiding them. No prior work experience required but must be proficient in High school Math & Reading & trainable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guide/instruct pre-K thru early elementary school level reading and math using our lesson materials
- Grade classwork/homework (answer book provided) as well
- Prep student folders
- Inventory stacking and administrative work
- Interacting with parents, and fielding questions/concerns
- General office tasks
- Any other tasks as needed for the Center to run smoothly
During the interview process, a basic Math and Reading test will be given.
Background checks will be conducted as this job entails working with children.
Ideal candidate should be: self-motivated, have a positive attitude, highly organized, able to juggle multiple tasks, punctual, friendly, enthusiastic about early childhood education, patient and understanding of children's behavior, strong in Math (up to Algebra) and Reading (up to High School literature), and work in a close team environment.
This position is a good match for high school and college students looking for part-time work and those with hands-on experience in education, retired teachers or anyone willing to work and be involved in education. Teaching credentials are not necessary. Only serious applicants who are willing to commit to the role long term please.
