What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Specialist position at Kumon Math and Reading Center of Stafford-West?
Kumon Math and Reading Center of Stafford-West is seeking an energetic and organized individual who loves to work with children and who is proficient in math.
Kumon is an after-school math and reading program. We employ a unique learning method and curriculum that unlocks the potential of children by helping them achieve more on their own. We work with students from pre-school to high school, developing critical academic and study skills.
Job Description: 1) Thoroughly learn about the Kumon method and employ it in assisting students 2) Work with students and provide instructions 3) Provide grading
Requirements:
1) Excellent verbal and written communication skills
2) Must thrive in a busy, multi-tasking environment
3) Strong work ethic, and prioritization and organizational skills
3) Strong math skills (ideally be able to handle up to pre-cal or calculus)
4) Must be able to work during class hours (Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30PM to 8PM) and additional hours which can be flexible.
*This is not a seasonal position. We prefer to hire someone who can work with us long-term.
*High school or college students who are strong in math are encouraged to apply. No previous work experience is required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.50 - $14.00 per hour
