About the role:
Kumon of Orland Park-West is seeking a capable, encouraging assistant to support students working through our math and reading curriculum. You'll sit with and check on primary-level students as they complete their work, keeping them focused, offering quick encouraging guidance, and helping them build independence and strong work habits. You'll float across the classroom to support students wherever they need a hand.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Comfortable with elementary- and middle-school-level math and reading
You'll be a great fit if you:
- Can confidently guide students through elementary and middle-school math and reading
- Enjoy working with school-aged children and can keep them focused and on task
- Are patient, attentive, and encouraging — you help without simply giving answers
- Are reliable, organized, and a good team player on a busy floor
Backgrounds we love (but don't require):
Education major or student, elementary or secondary education, math or reading tutoring, teaching, teacher's aide or paraprofessional work, or experience helping children with schoolwork. Strong math and reading skills are what matter most here.
