Job Summary
The Quality Inspection Shipping Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the Quality Inspection Shipping team to ensure product quality, compliance, and efficient shipping operations. This role supervises inspection personnel, manages quality processes, and supports continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The supervisor works closely with production, quality, and operations teams to ensure tire inspections meet company standards, ISO quality requirements, and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and lead the Quality Inspection Shipping team, including team leaders, visual inspectors, tug inspectors, mold inspectors, and final inspectors.
Monitor daily quality inspection operations to ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.
Attend daily production meetings and communicate inspection results, production updates, and operational concerns.
Prepare and analyze daily KPI reports related to quality inspection performance, productivity, and defect tracking.
Manage departmental materials and ensure adherence to budget guidelines for inspection-related supplies.
Support the Quality Department with ISO certification compliance, audits, and documentation.
Lead employee management activities, including hiring, interviewing, training, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
Provide training and guidance for inspection processes, quality standards, and best practices.
Investigate and assist in resolving quality issues or tire defects, collaborating with other departments to implement corrective actions.
Promote and maintain 5S workplace organization and continuous improvement initiatives to support a clean and safe work environment.
Work cross-functionally with manufacturing teams and production units (APU) to address quality concerns and improve product consistency.
Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Experience
5–7 years of manufacturing or quality inspection experience.
3–5 years of supervisory or team leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in tire manufacturing or industrial production environments.
Knowledge of quality management systems and ISO certification processes.
Experience leading quality inspection teams or manufacturing operations.

Working Conditions

Work areas are generally well-lit and temperature controlled, with occasional exposure to outdoor elements.
