Daily tasks also involve classroom management, creating inclusive learning activities, participating in team meetings, and engaging in professional development to remain current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of working with students with disabilities and experience in Special Education settings.
- Strong Teaching skills, including lesson planning, differentiated instruction, and classroom management.
- Background or comfort working with Middle School–aged learners and understanding of their developmental needs.
- Effective Communication skills for collaborating with students, families, colleagues, and external service providers.
- Relevant state certification or licensure in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain), and a bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or a related field.
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs and familiarity with applicable educational regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, showing flexibility, patience, and cultural sensitivity.
- Prior experience in inclusive or specialized school environments in Cedarhurst, NY or similar communities is a plus.
