Scheduler
Position Purpose:
Responsible for scheduling all outpatient surgeries and procedures as requested by the physician or the physician’s office.
Position Reports to: Clinical Leader
Position Supervises: None
Degree of Supervision Provided to Position:
Must be self -directed and work under the direction of the Clinical Leader
Education, Experience, and Licensure:
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum one (1) year scheduling experience in an ambulatory surgery facility, acute care hospital, or physician’s office.
- Punctuality
- Good attendance record
- Ability to meet deadlines

Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for scheduling all outpatient surgeries and procedures as requested by the physician or the physician’s office staff.
- Responsible for capturing complete and accurate clinical, demographic and insurance information on patients scheduled at the surgery center.
- Responsible for communicating same day and next day add-on case requests to leadership.
- Responsible for communicating any potential scheduling conflicts with perioperative team.
- Promptly communicates any patient problems to direct supervisor.
- Maintains positive communications with the medical staff members and their office personnel.
- Responsible for tracking cancellations.
- Responsible for monitoring and releasing block time.
- Ability to take ownership and leads by example.
- Ability to contribute in a cross-functional collaborative environment.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
- Self-motivated with the attitude and ability to be successful as part of a team.
- Actively participate in team meetings, trainings, and daily safety huddles

- Act as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.
