What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgery Scheduler position at Kansas City Orthopedic Alliance?
Kansas City Orthopedic Alliance is the largest, independently owned orthopedic specialty practice in the Kansas City metro area. We have over 50 medical providers practicing out of six locations. Each team focuses on the importance of customer service, communication, and caring for patients. We offer no weekends, no holidays, and no mandatory on call. Practice schedules are Monday through Friday.
The surgery scheduler is responsible for scheduling surgeries and follow-up appointments. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain any needed prior authorization; obtain any needed medical record results from other providers; ensure medical clearance requirements have been met in accordance with physician instructions. Notify patients of their estimated patient responsibility, and to collect co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, or down payments.
