Under immediate supervision and working from verbal or written instructions, perform routine repetitive light assembly duties involving mechanical assembly and / or the preparation of wire and cable for further fabrication of assemblies. Completes kitting, assembly and packaging processes according to established operating procedures. (Assignment commences with a 90-day probationary period; upon successful completion of probationary period and on-the-job training employee assumes full responsibilities of the role.)
Read, learn, understand and interpret blueprints and work instructions, and other instructions written or verbal, to complete assembly of products or components according to established guidelines and quality standards.
Use a variety of hand and power tools following appropriate methods and procedures to complete mechanical assembly of components or products, and prepare products and other items for shipment.
Wire/Cable counting, measuring and cutting - manual/automatic.
Wire/Cable labeling, stripping, and tinning.
Wire/Cable terminal crimping - using manual and automatic termination equipment.
Mechanical assembly of piece parts, gaskets, components, etc. including repetitive tasks and push line production.
Visually inspect products for conformance to specific physical dimensions and characteristics.
May be required to operate automatic or semiautomatic machines, such as, but not limited to, drill press, grinders, ribbon strippers, and printing equipment.
Clean parts and sub-assemblies using designated cleaning equipment or by dipping into approved cleaning solvents.
Insert, package, and label items for shipment.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Authorized to perform additional functions as described on the employee training record.
Certifications – Must complete Level I IPC requirements per KSM Employee Development Program 5.0.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Previous electronics manufacturing experience a plus.
Soldering experience strongly desired.
Familiarity with personal computers preferred.
Physical Requirements: Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English and/or Spanish.
