Personal Lines Account Manager – Licensed
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
Schedule: On-site | Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Our client is seeking an Account Manager to join their team in their Cedar Rapids office. This role will be primarily focused on Personal Lines, with some Commercial Lines support as well. This is a great opportunity for someone with personal lines experience, a strong customer-focused attitude, and a growth mindset to be part of a well-established and respected independent insurance agency.
The Account Manager is responsible for maintaining high account retention by providing excellent customer service across a primarily Personal Lines book of business, with select Commercial Lines accounts. This role requires strong attention to detail, consistent follow-through, and a consultative approach to coverage. Some inbound sales activity and claims advocacy may also be part of this role.
Essential Job Duties
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, carriers, and internal team members
- Receive, document, and process all client service requests, including policy changes, auto ID cards, certificates, and coverage quotes
- Proactively round out existing accounts by identifying and selling additional personal lines coverages or policies
- Initiate outbound communication (calls, email, and written correspondence) to conduct annual insurance reviews and recommend coverage updates
- Quote, review, and sell policies for inbound callers, walk-ins, referrals, and existing clients, following agency and carrier guidelines
- Provide risk management insight and clear coverage explanations tailored to client needs
- Support inbound sales opportunities and assist with claims advocacy as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and meet agency service, quality, and delivery standards
Education & Experience (Key Qualifications)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Active Iowa Property & Casualty insurance license required
- Minimum of 3 years of Personal Lines insurance experience strongly preferred
- Experience using Epic agency management software preferred
- Experience supporting or exposure to Commercial Lines accounts is a plus
- Prior experience working within an independent insurance agency environment preferred
