Maintenance Technician
Monday-Friday | 1st Shift | On-Site
A reputable manufacturing company in Eastern Iowa is looking for a Maintenance Technician to support first-shift operations. In this role, you will help ensure production equipment operates safely and efficiently by performing troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
What You'll Do
- Be the go-to problem solver—quickly troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to keep operations running smoothly
- Take ownership of equipment reliability by performing preventative maintenance on production and facility systems
- Put your technical skills to work by reading and interpreting schematics, diagrams, and manuals with confidence
- Diagnose and repair motors, drives, controls, and wiring to minimize downtime and maximize performance
- Play a key role in equipment setup, changeovers, and new equipment installations
- Get hands-on with PLC troubleshooting and expand your technical expertise
- Keep operations organized by maintaining accurate maintenance logs and work orders
- Proactively identify and resolve issues in hydraulic, electrical, and air systems before they impact production
- Help keep the team prepared by managing and organizing spare parts inventory
What We’re Looking For
- 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems - you enjoy solving problems and keeping things running
- Ability to read schematics and confidentially test electrical systems
- Experience working with motors, drives, and control systems
- Familiarity with PLCs is a plus
- Solid mechanical know-how, including pneumatics, pumps, and related systems
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while staying detail-focused
- A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly as priorities shift
- Physically able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a production environment
- Clear, effective communication skills - you work well with Team Leads and Management
Additional Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to meet standard pre-employment requirements, including passing a drug screen
