Job Description
As a Outbound Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all outbound shipping operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-effective shipment of goods. This role is responsible for supervising outbound associates, maintaining shipping schedules, and coordinating with internal departments to meet customer delivery expectations.
Job Responsibilities
- Train, mentor, and coach outbound associates; conduct performance evaluations.
- Supervise daily outbound shipping operations to ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time.
- Monitor workflow, assign tasks, and ensure proper staffing levels for outbound shifts.
- Promote and ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and shipping standards.
- Collaborate with Inventory, Transportation, and Customer Service teams to coordinate timely deliveries.
- Troubleshoot order issues, shipping errors, or delays, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and scanners.
- Monitor KPIs related to accuracy, on-time shipping, labor productivity, and quality control.
- Maintain documentation for shipments, including BOLs, manifests, and tracking records.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in outbound operations.
Qualifications
- School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent preferred. College coursework is desired.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership, management, or supervisory role in a warehouse setting. Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), scanning equipment, and shipping software.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Forklift certification (or ability to become certified).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Goal-oriented with proven record of self-motivation and achievement.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills across entire organization.
