Position Summary:
As the Insurance and Patient Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for answering patient calls, responding to emails and text messages, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance benefits, and obtaining dental insurance breakdowns. You will also be responsible for discussing insurance benefits and the cost of services with patients, so comfort and confidence in talking about financial matters is essential. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, have a positive demeanor, and be an effective team player.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Communication: Answer phones, respond to emails, and text messages from patients in a professional and timely manner.
Appointment Scheduling: Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments to ensure the optimal use of available time slots.
Insurance Verification: Verify dental insurance benefits and obtain breakdowns for patients’ coverage.
Insurance Explanation: Discuss insurance benefits, out-of-pocket costs, and treatment fees with patients, ensuring they understand their coverage and financial responsibilities.
Financial Discussions: Comfortable discussing the cost of services and payment options with patients while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with dental staff, insurance providers, and other team members to ensure seamless patient care and clinic operations.
General Administrative Support: Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to maintain efficient office operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a dental office or healthcare setting is preferred.
Strong understanding of dental insurance and billing processes.
Comfortable with discussing and explaining financial matters to patients.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
