General Summary
An Electrician Trainee supports Electricians in the maintenance, installation, operation and repair of electrical systems. They assist with and perform installation and maintenance tasks in order to ensure the effective operation of various electrical equipment.
Essential Job Functions
1. Regular and reliable attendance.
2. Prepared and on time for scheduled shift with proper PPE.
3. Responsible for Daily Shift validations.
4. Perform and fill out pre-trip vehicle inspection before leaving the yard, check all fluids/tires/lights/ and all signs as listed on pre-trip.
5. Assist the troubleshooting and repair of electrical wires and components.
6. Responsible for learning all procedures for installing and maintaining electrical systems as well as local and federal regulations and safety requirements and accept teaching from electricians.
7. Be actively involved in Behavioral Safety Process.
8. Perform tasks assigned by Foreman.
9. Develop knowledge of KSI PPM-SOPs and refer to the SOP Manual prior to each task.
10. Follow all KS Industries, LLC safety, and customer policies and procedures.
11. Shall perform all physical and mental requirements listed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions in English
- Ability to communicate with employees and various business partners in a professional and courteous manner.
- Thorough knowledge of different tools and equipment
- Solid understanding of safety regulations in accordance to the set standards.
- Knowledge of technology (iPads, cellphones etc.)
- Knowledge of Stop Work Authority (SWA)
- Ability to complete training for Behavioral Safety Process
Education and Experience
Minimum 6 months of industry experience preferred along with knowledge of tools.

Lifting/Pulling/Jerking/Grasping/Raising/Lowering: Must be able to lift, grasp up to 50 lbs. with the use of fingers, palm and wrists to hold and/or manipulate objects (hammers, saws, pencils, pens etc.) Must be able to raise and lower objects from one level to another.

Squatting/Twisting/Bend/Reaching/Stooping/Squatting/Kneeling : Must be able to twist, squat, kneel and bend in various positions with or without objects.

Working Conditions: The locations vary from site to site. Work is physically demanding and requires the ability to concentrate well on the job at hand, in all types of weather. Majority of the work is construction-based work. Walking and working surface vary depending on the terrain, from flat to extreme slopes and frozen, wet, snowy and slippery conditions.
Working Hours: Normally, a full-time employee will work 40 hours per week, depending on the factors such as weather and schedules. Work schedules and hours may vary depending on specific client locations and projects. In general, applicable work schedules include 5-12’s and Weekends. All labor laws in reference to rest breaks and meal periods will be followed.
