What You’ll Do (AKA: Your Clinical Superpowers)
Lead Resident Assessment & Compliance:
Coordinate and manage MDS assessments (initial, quarterly, annual, and significant change) in line with OBRA, Medicare/Medicaid guidelines, and state regulations.
Maintain accuracy and timeliness in all RAI and documentation submissions.
Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure ADL and documentation accuracy for maximum reimbursement.
Monitor resident Medicare eligibility and provide timely notifications to residents, families, and care teams.
Champion Infection Control & Education:
Lead and implement infection prevention protocols; educate staff on current CDC, CMS, and facility-specific standards.
Monitor, audit, and coach on proper PPE usage, hand hygiene, and outbreak responses.
Provide clinical in-service training and onboarding for new hires in collaboration with nursing leadership.
Serve as a key member of the quality assurance and safety committees.
Support Nursing Excellence & Regulatory Readiness:
Assist in developing care plans, identifying resident risk factors, and promoting clinical documentation best practices.
Participate in audits, investigations, and performance improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with federal/state requirements and assist with survey readiness efforts.
What You Bring to the Table (Besides Clinical Precision)
✔ Credentials & Experience:
Licensed RN or LPN in good standing (RN preferred)
MDS or RAI experience required; Infection Control experience preferred
Long-term care or skilled nursing experience highly preferred
✔ Skills & Strengths:
Strong attention to detail and knowledge of MDS 3.0, RUGs/PDPM, and Medicare/Medicaid compliance
Excellent communication, organization, and teaching skills
Proficient in electronic medical records and documentation systems
✔ Physical & Schedule Requirements:
Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and assist with resident care/environmental tasks as needed
Flexible schedule including occasional evenings/weekends and on-call rotation
