What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Advanced Systems Engineer position at Kronos Consulting?
We’re looking for a Senior Advanced Systems Engineer with hands-on experience in aerospace gas turbine engine Performance & Operability modeling.
This role is focused heavily on thermodynamic engine modeling and NPSS, so we’re looking for someone who has personally built and performed analysis with engine cycle models, not someone who only used the output of those models.
What you’ll be doing:
• Build, debug, refine, and maintain steady-state and transient engine models using NPSS
• Perform gas turbine engine performance and operability modeling and analysis
• Develop and support engine cycle models and customer models
• Analyze and decompose engineering requirements
• Support engine development, testing, qualification, and data analysis
• Work across multiple engineering disciplines to develop accurate system models
• Support a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment
• Share NPSS modeling knowledge and mentor other engineers
• Present technical findings to engineering leadership, customers, and cross-functional teams
What we’re looking for:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another relevant technical discipline
• 4 years of hands-on turbine engine Performance & Operability modeling and analysis
• Strong understanding of gas turbine thermodynamics and engine cycles
• Hands-on experience building and debugging NPSS models
• Experience with both steady-state and transient modeling
• Experience with requirements analysis/decomposition
• MBSE experience is a plus
• Experience with Cameo or similar MBSE tools is a plus
