Kress is looking for a full time Buyer II to join our team in the development of specialized industrial equipment for steel, construction, and mining industries.
The Buyer II plays a critical role in maintaining cost-effective supply chains for heavy equipment manufacturing operations. This position focuses on negotiating favorable terms, improving supplier performance, and ensuring reliable delivery of parts and materials that keep production running efficiently.

BUYER II
Kress is looking for a full time Buyer II to join our team in the development of specialized industrial equipment for steel, construction, and mining industries.
The Buyer II plays a critical role in maintaining cost-effective supply chains for heavy equipment manufacturing operations. This position focuses on negotiating favorable terms, improving supplier performance, and ensuring reliable delivery of parts and materials that keep production running efficiently.
Responsibilities –
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards
- Monitor supplier KPIs (on-time delivery, quality, cost performance) and lead corrective actions when necessary
- Collaborate with finance to manage cost reduction initiatives and budgeting
- Conduct total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses to support purchasing decisions
- Support production with expedited orders and alternative sourcing when supply issues arise
- Ensure procurement practices comply with ethical, legal, and safety standards
Qualifications -
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field; equivalent work experience considered
- 3–5 years of procurement experience, with preference for heavy equipment or capital goods manufacturing
- Strong track record of achieving cost savings and improving supplier performance
- Excellent communication and cross-functional teamwork skills
- Experience using Infor and advanced Excel skills
