Job Summary:
Supervises, leads, and directs Accounts Receivable, Billing, Accounts Payable, and Cash Management activities for Krayden, Inc. and BDS and Billing for NCL.
Job Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable and Billing
- Supervise and coordinate activities of the Accounts Receivable team engaged in calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain and record financial data used for maintaining accounting and statistical records.
- Manage manufacturer rebate programs.
- Compile composite reports from individual reports of subordinates required by management or government agencies.
- Oversee credit/terms approvals and negotiations.
- Supervise and participate in preparing and auditing materials requiring analyses of supporting documents and ensures that all entities are entered into the system properly.
- Review customer credit applications and perform credit references.
- Identify and resolve problems and inconsistencies, determining appropriate corrective actions.
- Oversee cash applications.
- Manage cash collections and determine adequate allowances for credit losses.
- Review A/R Dashboard in Power BI for completeness, accuracy, and effectiveness of collection activities.
- Reconcile Accounts Receivable to the general ledger.
- Periodically, review and update policies and procedures impacting the Order-to-Cash processes, collaborating with the Operations teams as needed.
Accounts Payable
- Lead and direct voucher processing.
- Review general ledger coding for propriety and consistency.
- Determine which accounts to include in regular payment runs.
- Reconcile Accounts Payable to the general ledger.
- Periodically, review and update policies and procedures impacting the Procure-to-Pay processes, collaborating with the Operations teams as needed.
Cash Management
- Participate in the weekly 13-week cash flow forecasting process.
- Manage company’s corporate credit cards.
- Monitor company’s cash balances and lead intercompany cash transfers.
Month-End Close
- Prepare the PTO accrual for Krayden, Inc., BDS, NCL, and Krayden, Canada.
- Prepare the monthly payroll entries pulling the needed data from Dayforce.
- Prepare the final Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable entries and/or transactions for the period.
- Prepare the HRA and FSA entries.
- Prepare the Stock-based Compensation entries.
- Save down bank statements.
Others
- Initiate expense reimbursements for all employees and approve expense reports for C-level personnel.
- Oversee Sales and Use taxes processing using Avalara.
- Responsible for assisting with the external audit as requested.
- Responsible for assisting with the Company’s ERP implementation to NetSuite, including, but not limited to, reviewing design documents, providing process flows and other related documentation, performing end-to-end testing and user-acceptance testing, and leading change management initiatives for functional responsibilities reporting into this Accounting Manager role.
- Communicate and coordinate accounting policies, practices, and procedures with department and company managers and officials, vendors, reporting agencies, clients, customers, and the public.
- Assist in determining work procedures, preparing work schedules and expedites workflow in the area.
- Issue written and oral instructions.
- Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures, including AS/ISO and all other pertinent Accounting policies and requirements.
- Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise employees reporting into Accounting Manager role, including, but not limited to, training and developing the team and planning and assigning workstreams.
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
- Responsible for appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
- Perform other duties, special projects, and ad hoc reporting as requested.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and develop accounting staff. (Preferred)
- NetSuite experience is helpful. (Preferred)
- Proven track record of optimizing Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) in a fiscally responsible manner. (Required)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to coordinate effectively across departments.
- Successful history of improving cash collections in alignment with company standards. (Required)
- Skilled in aligning Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) to support operational and financial goals. (Required)
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment. (Preferred)
- Change management experience, particularly during ERP implementations, is a strong plus.
