What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits Advisor position at Kraus-Anderson Incorporated?
Summary: To help accomplish the sales goals for Kraus-Anderson Insurance by developing new client accounts and retaining current client accounts. Provide unparalleled technical expertise to new potential clients. To continually increase production numbers by performing all duties with an ownership mentality and an emphasis on leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand and actively work toward agency goals and strategies
- Prospect new clients through networking, referrals, sales calls and other sources in order to meet new business production goals.
- Sell insurance products and agency services including Benefits and HR services to clients and prospects.
- Introduce and cross sell other agency services, to include COMPTROL, Property & Casualty, COMPTROL Zero to current clients and prospects.
- Responsible for existing client retention by overseeing client service team initiatives.
- Meet at prospect/client locations to review the risk, collect appropriate specifications required for a completed underwriting submission.
- Meet with clients annually to review customer service performance and additional service needs.
- Analyze insurance program, provide customized insurance program design, including coverage recommendations.
- Attend sales meetings to review new business prospects.
- Collaborate with the sales team to analyze competing agencies, and develop marketing strategies to successfully compete against them.
- Capable of presenting to clients/prospects the coverage features, advantages and disadvantages of different insurance programs and carriers.
- Attend meetings, seminars and other industry-related programs to learn about new products, services and sales
- Provide other support whether apparent, required, or needed.
- Complete additional projects as developed and assigned by your supervisor or management.

Qualifications/Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- A valid Minnesota life/health insurance is required along with a valid Driver’s License.
- The ability to clearly and accurately communicate, be goal oriented, analyze insurance programs with proven sales skills are required.
- Prior experience with Salesforce and Applied EPIC is preferred, but not required.
