Shift: First Shift
The Electronics Technician supports the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and sustainment of electronic components and systems associated with Navy equipment. This role includes significant shipboard work involving safe removal, disconnection, harvesting, and cataloging of electronic components to support modernization, maintenance, and refurbishment efforts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct shipboard removal, harvesting, and disconnection of AN/SPY-1related equipment, following all safety, configuration-management, and naval technical standards.
- Identify, disconnect, and preserve cables, connectors, and components during shipboard extraction to support repair or re-installation efforts.
- Collaborate closely with shipboard personnel, installation teams, and logistics staff to ensure proper handling, tagging, and transport of removed materials.
- Provide accurate status updates for production and return-material workflows.
- Catalog harvested shipboard materials using correct NSN/NIIN data, part numbers, alternates, condition codes, and shelf?life requirements.
- Operate barcode and RFID systems to record material movement and maintain supply-chain accuracy.
- Support Government Furnished Property (GFP) accountability during shipboard and warehouse operations.
- Participate in program meetings, readiness reviews, and logistics working groups to support planning and sustainment activities.
- Travel up to 75% to support shipboard removal events, modernization availabilities, and onsite customer requirements.
Required Experience:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to handle sensitive or classified information per government standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with shipboard personnel, supervisors, and technical teams.
- Ability to work with precision on small components and connections, including in confined or challenging shipboard environments.
- Proficiency using general electronic test equipment.
- Strong understanding of electronic inventory practices, BOM structures, and part documentation.
- Advanced MS Office skills for documentation and reporting.
- Ability to lift 40-50 lbs and operate effectively in shipboard, warehouse, or industrial settings
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of relevant technician experience in electronics, maintenance, or system sustainment.
- Shipboard experience preferred; experience with equipment removal, disconnection, or harvesting strongly beneficial.
