What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder (Shop) position at Kraemer North America?
Kraemer North America is currently looking for a Welder to join our shop team in Plain, WI. The Welder performs fabrication of bridge construction related items as specified by layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders. This person also repairs damaged or worn construction equipment.

Responsibilities
- Weld and repair bridge construction related items
- Participate in job preparation activities, including reading blueprints
- Ensure compliance with Kraemer Safety and Quality Programs
- Push/pull dollies and carts
- Climb ladders and scaffolding
- Work in confined areas
- Fabricate and repair steel forms, steel beams, sheet piling and steel related material
- Perform occasional fabrication and welding repairs on heavy equipment
Requirements
- Minimum two years of related experience
- Technical school degree preferred
- Ability to read blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain focused for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 lbs
