The Safety Coordinator will support projects in our Mountain West Region, CO area. This position requires up to 40% overnight travel.
This position is posted as a Safety Specialist for visibility. The internal title for this position is Safety Coordinator.
The Safety Coordinator supports the Project Manager, Regional Manager, and Safety Manager. This position also serves as a lead resource for implementation, management, and continuous improvement of safety. This includes coordination and administration of corporate safety and health programs to reduce incidents while supporting efficient operations.
Responsibilities
Field Leadership: Work with field supervision to assess and document work practices to ensure Kraemer policies and procedures are followed by management and crews.
Project Safety Leadership: Act as the project’s representative in all areas of occupational safety and health. Support Work Activity Planning and lead the implementation of safety programs in the field.
Hazard Control: Follow up on corrective actions to ensure hazards are eliminated or controlled in support of Safe Production.
Training & Orientation: Coordinate and conduct new hire orientations and safety training. Identify required training needs and coordinate with the Regional Safety Manager.
Site Planning: Develop Site Specific Safety Plans and support project teams in planning safe work activities.
Monitoring: Monitor site conditions including air quality, illumination, wind, ventilation, and dust.
Communication: Maintain a proactive approach to safety through regular communication including meetings, updates, and field engagement.
Industrial Hygiene: Assist with applying industrial hygiene practices and documentation to support employee health and safety.
Analysis & Investigation: Investigate incidents to determine root cause and corrective actions. Analyze trends and provide recommendations to improve performance.
Compliance: Administer and ensure compliance with Kraemer safety programs and support personnel with safety-related issues.
Collaboration: Work with the Risk Analyst, Safety Director, Safety Managers, and Project Managers to support incident reporting, medical case management, and crisis management.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field with coursework or experience in Risk Management, Construction Management, Industrial Hygiene, or behavioral-based safety.
Experience: Previous safety leadership experience in a construction-related industry preferred.
Certification: Construction Safety and Health Technician (CSHT) preferred.
Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and FRA regulations.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Communication: Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Working Conditions

Compensation & Benefits
Hiring Range: Starts at $65,000. Base salary depends on experience, skills, and location.
