KPMG is currently seeking a Manager, Data Governance and Metadata Services to join our Internal Data Services organization. This is a hybrid work opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Internal Data Services (IDS) Metadata initiatives portfolio, understanding dependencies and linkages; update and adapt the portfolio in response to changing priorities, technological advancements, and ongoing initiative statuses; present portfolio status, highlighting issues and opportunities, in periodic leadership meetings
- Lead the assessment of technology options to enhance Metadata Services for IDS; analyze the pros, cons, and requirements for enterprise-level data governance systems to ensure optimal alignment with organizational needs
- Foster collaboration with Digital Nexus, data professionals, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver solutions; serve as a strategic business partner to Digital Nexus (IT) and other internal groups, providing thought leadership and guidance
- Proactively research emerging trends in technology, data, and AI, and continuously recommend innovative solutions and improvements to stay aligned with market developments
- Minimum five years of recent experience in Data Governance, Technical and Business Metadata, and AI, with proven leadership in process automation and improvement projects
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
- Progressive experience in implementing, supporting, and utilizing data governance applications like Collibra, Databricks, Unity Catalog, MS Purview; strong business and technology acumen and a comprehensive understanding of data governance and metadata processes, applications, system architectures, and data models; proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL is required
- Demonstrated exceptional collaboration and communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders; excellent project management skills, including experience with Agile methodologies, are preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex technological concepts clearly to diverse audiences
- Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams and managing cross-functional projects
