Role Project Controls & Scheduling Specialists
Location: Camden, NJ (preferred)-Remote

Client is seeking several experienced Project Controls and Scheduling Specialists to support a major program as we stand up a dedicated PMO. These contract roles focus on scope development, schedule creation, resource planning, and building the reporting and work control tools that will guide the project’s execution. Candidates should be seasoned professionals who can work directly with engineering and project management teams, take ownership, and drive work to completion.
What You’ll Do
Scope Development
- Work with team leads to define and document scopes of work.
- Build clear work breakdown structures and supporting WBS dictionaries.
- Ensure scope completeness and alignment across technical areas.
Schedule Creation and Baseline Setup
- Develop a resource-loaded, logic-driven Primavera P6 schedule.
- Establish the initial baseline schedule for forecasting, milestone planning, and EVM setup.
- Build a schedule hierarchy linking summary and working-level schedules.
- Handle hands-on schedule entry and optimization in P6.
Resource Planning
- Translate schedule needs into staffing plans, including headcount and ramp-up profiles.
- Identify gaps and provide recommendations to meet schedule targets.
Reporting Tools and Templates
- Create standardized reporting formats for DOE updates, project and engineering management, senior leadership reviews, and periodic performance reporting.
- Ensure reporting products are consistent, clear, and aligned with project needs.
Work Control Practices
- Develop tools and processes that help team leads plan and manage work effectively.
- Build task lists, variance and issue reports, and other controls tied to the schedule and scope.
- Review current practices and recommend improvements.
How You’ll Work
- Operate as part of the PMO and collaborate daily with engineering managers and project managers.
- Facilitate meetings, set deadlines, monitor progress, and reinforce accountability.
- Take ownership of assigned scope and keep work moving through hands-on engagement.
- Camden-based presence is strongly preferred. Remote work is acceptable part-time, but in-person collaboration will be required.
