Laptop Imaging Technician

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hard-working Laptop Imaging Technician to join our Laptop Depot team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The selected candidate will focus on imaging, preparing, and shipping laptops to support end-user technology needs. This role is critical in ensuring devices are properly configured, meet company standards, and are deployment-ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Image and configure Windows laptops in bulk using SCCM task sequences (initiation only).
- Perform first-time setup steps for new laptops, including software installation and configuration.
- Support laptop refresh projects, including device replacement and data migration.
- Conduct quality control checks and assurance on all imaged laptops.
- Troubleshoot imaging issues (e.g., PXE boot), document findings, and escalate when needed.
- Update tickets and asset management systems accurately.
- Wipe retired assets and coordinate returns to leasing companies.
- Move and organize laptops on large imaging benches (up to 60 devices at a time).
- Schedule repairs with hardware vendors and process asset return packages.
- Collaborate within a 5-person team, reporting to the Laptop Depot Team Lead.
- Maintain high-volume output while ensuring quality and attention to detail.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Hands-on experience with Windows laptop imaging (SCCM task sequence experience preferred).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and move quickly between workstations.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Fast typing or touch typing skills preferred.
- Relevant IT certifications highly desirable, including but not limited to:
- CompTIA A
- Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Client
- Previous experience in IT support, desktop deployment, or similar technical roles is ideal.
- Must be able to work 100% onsite in Downers Grove, IL.
- Business casual dress required.
Salary : $23 - $25
