Respiratory Therapy Manager (RRT)

KPC Promise Hospital of BATON ROUGE: The Respiratory Manager organizes, leads, manages, and coordinates the activities of the Cardio Pulmonary Department. He/She carries out policies and procedures consistent with JCAHO, OSHA, and state and local requirements. Responsibilities also include quality assurance, safety, infection control, overseeing blood gas lab, in-service for staff, ensures adequate budgeting and staffing is met, attends, contributes and participates in all committees as assigned by administration, as well as the management of employees and payroll for the cardio pulmonary department.  

QUALIFICATIONS:   

1. Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program  
2. Credentialed by the NBRC as a CRT or RRT  
3. Current license by the State Board of Respiratory Care Examiner  
4. Minimum of three years management experience in respiratory care, preferably in a LTACH  
5. Requires effective management, organizational, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills  
6. Must be able to read, write, and speak English   

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:  

 Physical: Walking - up to 50% Standing - up to 50% Kneeling - up to 15%  

 Sitting - up to 50% Pushing - up to 10% Bending - up to 15%  

 Squatting - up to 10% Pulling - up to 10% Reaching - up to 15%  

 Lifting - up to 50lbs Wrist/Finger Movements - up to 90%  

 Mental: Stress Level: Moderate to High  

EXPOSURE RISK: Category I – Jobs in which required tasks routinely involve a potential for mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, tissues or potential spills or splashes. Use of appropriate measures is required for every healthcare provider in these jobs.  

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, MATERIALS, MACHINES USED: Various oxygen equipment, artificial airways (i.e., tracheotomy tubes, endotracheal tubes), invasive as well as non-invasive ventilator equipment, suction equipment, percussors, electrocardiographic machine, pulse oximetry equipment and supplies, blood gas and other chemistry analyzers, crash carts, other miscellaneous medical equipment, telephone, facsimile machine, copier, printers, computers and other office machines, as appropriate.  

CERTIFICATIONS: BLS certified, ACLS certified
