General Maintenance (Hospital)

KPC Promise Hospital of BATON ROUGE: The General Maintenance position performs a variety of routine to skilled general preventative maintenance duties in the repair, alteration, and modification of buildings and facilities. The groundskeeper is responsible for the well-manicured appearance of the hospital grounds and helps to ensure a safe, clean and attractive environment for patients, staff, visitors, and medical staff at all times. He/she demonstrates responsibility in the routine maintenance and caring for hospital grounds to include internal hospital grounds to include floors. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

1. High school graduate or equivalent.  

2. Previous experience in construction and a working knowledge of mechanical equipment.  

3. Must be able to read, write, and speak English, as well as possess good verbal and written communication skills  

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:  

Physical: Walking - up to 60% Standing - up to 50% Kneeling - up to 4%  

 Sitting - up to 30% Pushing - up to 30% Bending - up to 4%  

 Squatting - up to 40% Pulling - up to 40% Reaching - up to 50%  

 Lifting - up to 50lbs Wrist/Finger Movements - up to 90%  

Mental: Stress Level: Moderate to High  

EXPOSURE RISK: Category II - Jobs in which required tasks normally do not involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues but which could result in Category I exposure.  

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, MATERIALS, MACHINES USED: Hand tools, power tools, power equipment, micrometer, calipers, data/telephone tools, electric test equipment, hydronic test equipment, pneumatic tools and equipment, air flow test and calibration, TV cabling, computer
