We are partnered with a leading private equity-backed, multi-entity services organization seeking a Director of Accounting, Treasury & Shared Services to lead and optimize centralized finance operations across a large, decentralized platform.
This is a highly visible leadership opportunity responsible for overseeing Treasury, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Accounts Receivable/Collections while driving process discipline, strengthening financial controls, improving working capital performance, and building scalable shared services capabilities within a rapidly growing, acquisition-driven organization.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will lead a team of functional managers and a broader shared services organization while partnering closely with finance and operational leadership across multiple business units.
The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution and will play a critical role in optimizing treasury operations, improving cash flow visibility, supporting acquisition integration, and establishing best-in-class shared services processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead centralized shared services functions including Treasury, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Accounts Receivable/Collections.
- Provide leadership to managers across multiple finance functions while overseeing a broader shared services organization.
- Own treasury operations including cash management, liquidity planning, cash forecasting, debt compliance, and banking relationships.
- Drive working capital improvements through enhanced collections strategies, reporting, and accountability.
- Oversee high-volume Accounts Payable and Payroll operations while identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Standardize processes and workflows across shared services functions to improve scalability and operational efficiency.
- Support acquisition integration efforts by evaluating existing finance processes and incorporating newly acquired businesses into shared services.
- Partner with finance and operational leadership to align financial processes with business objectives.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives leveraging technology, automation, and best practices.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing shared services organization while building organizational capability for future growth.
Ideal Background
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA preferred.
- 10 years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading shared services organizations across Treasury, AP, AR/Collections, and Payroll.
- Strong treasury expertise including cash forecasting, liquidity management, banking relationships, and debt compliance.
- Experience in multi-entity and/or private equity-backed environments.
- Experience supporting M&A integration initiatives is highly preferred.
- Track record of driving process improvements and systems enhancements.
- Strong leadership skills with experience developing teams and partnering cross-functionally.
