Accounting Manager
Rockford, IL (Hybrid/ On site 3 days a week)
Overview:
We are assisting our client in the search for an Accounting Manager located in Rockford. Our client is a global manufacturing company. The Accounting manager will lead a team responsible for revenue related accounting activities within a complex organization. The position partners closely with finance leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong compliance, and effective team performance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee revenue accounting activities, including revenue recognition and evaluation of contractual arrangements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606).
- Review customer contracts and accounting transactions to identify and address technical accounting considerations.
- Oversee month‑end close processes related to revenue and associated accounts.
- Review and ensure accuracy of financial statement components, including income statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules.
- Manage and develop a team, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Partner with stakeholders across finance, sales, legal, and operations to resolve accounting issues and support business initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting processes.
- Participate in system implementations, upgrades, or ERP transformations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 5–10 years of accounting experience in public accounting or industry
- CPA and/or master’s in accounting/finance preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX, ASC 606 and various technical accounting areas
- Solid knowledge of accounting standards, controls, and compliance requirements
- Manufacturing or consumer packaged goods industry experience
- Proven leadership and team‑management capabilities
