What are the responsibilities and job description for the Treating Mechanic position at Kordsa International Llc?
Summary/Objective
Provide service to Treating Department for electrical/mechanical repairs and maintenance to maintain
and achieve safety, production and quality goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Electrical/Mechanical duties relating to the job to include troubleshooting electrical circuits, motors, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics and any related equipment or components
- Have basic knowledge of Industrial Electronics including PLC’s, ladder logic and related diagrams
- Maintain radio communications with Operations at all work times
- Check/Maintain support equipment for plant including Air Compressor(s) and dryer(s), HVAC units, Material Handling Equipment, Lighting, Pumps, etc.
- Monitor safe operations of Treating Production Line.
- Operate and maintain all Gas fired equipment to include burners, space heaters, LP mixing station and any of their related components.
- Chemical unloading and handling related to pumps and their components.
- Perform PM related work and work orders distributed through the current CMMS System.
- Help to maintain a Safe and Healthy workplace by being organized on the job and cleaning up after a task is completed.
- Help to maintain parts inventory especially for critical equipment – notify supervisor of any parts used.
- Ability to Arc and Mig Welding, use of torch.
- Ability to effectively use hand and power tools, meters, scopes and other specialized equipment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Assist other Maintenance Personnel with any issues to include shutdown work, projects, etc.
- Perform other related duties assigned by supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job requires working at various locations throughout the facility. This role will be working around production equipment in varying temperatures and conditions.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job will require the use of hand and power tools. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, stretch, kneel, and assume awkward positions as is dictated by worksite. Must be able to work in varying temperatures up to 110 degrees and a dusty environment.
Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Standard Hours of work are based on the Shift of Hire. 1st Shift – 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 2nd Shift – 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., 3rd Shift – 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Monday through Friday Normally 40 hours per week, may be required to work overtime to cover shifts or to complete required maintenance work.

Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma – with 2 years of experience in Industrial maintenance.
Preferred Experience
Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance or 3 – 5 years job related experience.
