Parts Counterperson

Pay: $17.00–$19.00 per hour commission, based on experience.

Kool Chevrolet is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Parts Counterperson to join our team. This full-time position plays a vital role in supporting both our service department and retail/wholesale customers by ensuring technicians have the right parts when they need them and customers receive exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians, service advisors, retail customers, and wholesale accounts with parts identification and sales.
• Accurately look up and source GM and aftermarket parts using electronic parts catalogs and dealership software.
• Process parts orders, special orders, invoices, returns, and warranties.
• Work closely with the service department to ensure technicians receive parts quickly and efficiently, helping maintain shop productivity.
• Monitor backorders and communicate order status with service advisors and customers.
• Receive, stock, organize, and maintain inventory for the parts department.
• Assist with inventory counts and help maintain inventory accuracy.
• Keep the parts department clean, organized, and well stocked.
• Follow all dealership and manufacturer policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive parts or dealership experience is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of automotive parts, vehicle systems, and repair terminology is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Comfortable using computers and learning dealership management software.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
