Welding Parts Coordinator

JOB FUNCTION: Coordinates the movement of welding sub-parts and finished weldments to and from the welding department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Organizes welding sub-parts in the staging area.
• Locates the correct welding sub-parts for each job.
• Moves welding sub-parts from the staging area to the correct welding station using a forklift.
• Moves finished weldments to the next operation in the shop.
• Kits jobs and assemblies as requested
• Conducts physical part counts

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual should also meet the following qualifications.

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak fluently and respond to questions.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions to practical situations.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Computer Skills: Must have basic computer use and navigation skills.
• Other Skills and Abilities: Must be flexible and willing to help in all areas of the shop as needed. CDL or ability to obtain a CDL is preferred, but not required.
• Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; and to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; flying objects such as chips and scale; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The employee is also frequently exposed to hot weather. The employee is frequently exposed to accident hazards that can involve moderate burns, severe cuts, and bruises. The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment as explained in the Employee Handbook. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
