What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Relations Account Executive position at Konnect Agency?
The Account Executive is the day-to-day engine of client success at Konnect. In this role, you own execution across multiple accounts — writing sharp press materials, building strong media relationships, and keeping clients informed with accuracy and consistency. You're organized, proactive, and take pride in doing things right the first time. You're also curious: about your clients' worlds, about strategy, and about how to keep getting better.
What You'll Do
- Support as a day-to-day client contact, leading designated sections of client calls, taking thorough PR notes, and delivering synthesized call recaps to your Account Leader within five business hours of each call
- Write press releases and press materials efficiently and accurately, requiring minimal revisions from your Account Leader
- Research, build, and maintain a robust media list of verified contacts that authentically match each client's target audience and media landscape — refreshed and updated monthly
- Execute media outreach with the goal of landing 2-4 earned media placements per client each month, matched to the client's desired outlets and demographics
- Keep client dashboards updated daily with secured and live press and sample requests, and complete weekly updates — accurately and without needing to be reminded
- Develop and maintain PR plans, propose compelling story angles, and report press opportunities to clients in a timely manner
- Monitor client press daily and compile comprehensive updates for each account
- Manage sample and general mailings, respond promptly to journalist and client queries, and support the creation of client presentations and wrap reports as needed
- Participate in cross-team projects and contribute to both client and agency-side deliverables
Who You Are
- A self-starter who executes tasks accurately and on time, and communicates status updates without being prompted
- Someone who asks clarifying questions and seeks context before diving in — you understand the "why" behind the work
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple accounts and workstreams simultaneously
- Beginning to build direct client relationships, with guidance from senior team members
- Genuinely curious about clients, strategy, and industry dynamics — and you bring that curiosity into your work
- Deeply knowledgeable (or eager to become so) about the CPG and franchise industries, with the ability to develop competitive reviews and strategic context for your clients
- Resilient: you recover quickly from mistakes, apply what you've learned, and keep moving forward
What You Bring
- 2–3 years of relevant public relations experience working in an Agency setting
- A BA in Mass Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
- Strong writing, research, and organizational skills
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure
- Professionalism, a collaborative spirit, and a genuinely positive attitude
