Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Excavation Laborer with some prior experience in excavation or related construction work. This position involves working as part of a crew on a variety of earthwork and utility installation projects. Candidates should be dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn advanced equipment and grading technologies.
Responsibilities
- Operate light and heavy equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, and other machinery as needed
- Assist with installing underground utilities (water, sewer, storm, etc.)
- Perform general labor duties such as trenching, grading, backfilling, and site cleanup
- Learn and apply laser and GPS systems to shoot grades and maintain accurate elevations
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures at all times
- Travel to out-of-state job sites as required (typically short-term project-based travel)
Qualifications
- Prior experience in excavation, utility work, or construction required (minimum 1 year preferred)
- Ability to safely operate small excavation equipment
- Willingness to learn laser and GPS grading systems
- Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel for certain projects
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
