ID/OD/Rotary Grinding Machinist
Contract-to-Hire | Brooklyn Park, MN | $20–$30/hour
We are looking for a skilled Grinding Machinist to join our team. This role is a great opportunity for someone with machining experience who enjoys working with high-precision equipment and producing quality parts to tight tolerances.
The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and operating grinding equipment and be comfortable working with a combination of ID, OD, and rotary grinding machines.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate one or more high-precision grinding machines.
- Operate multiple machines simultaneously based on production workload.
- Work with a combination of:
- Inside Diameter (ID) grinders
- Outside Diameter (OD) grinders
- Rotary grinders
- Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet print and quality requirements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
- Perform close-tolerance work and make necessary machining adjustments.
- Process work orders and track materials and labor using barcode scanning systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support other machining and production activities as needed.
Qualifications
- 2 years of machining experience.
- Experience operating grinding equipment is preferred.
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Ability to perform close-tolerance machining and inspection.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Comfortable with shop math and calculations related to machining and measurement.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Adaptable and comfortable learning new processes and procedures.
