Electrical Controls Technician
Direct Hire | Eagan, MN Area
$35–$50/hour DOE
A growing industrial equipment manufacturer and systems integrator is seeking a hands-on Electrical Controls Technician to support the build, wiring, installation, troubleshooting, and startup of custom industrial equipment and fluid handling systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of electrical assembly, controls work, PLC troubleshooting, and custom automation projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Build, wire, install, and troubleshoot industrial electrical and control systems
- Assemble and wire control panels, conduit, switchgear, and related electrical components
- Program, install, and troubleshoot PLC-based automation systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Support equipment startup, testing, and commissioning activities
- Troubleshoot electrical and controls-related issues on custom equipment and systems
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA and NEC standards
- Work independently or collaboratively with engineering and production teams
Qualifications
- Strong industrial electrical and controls experience
- Experience with PLCs, industrial automation, and troubleshooting electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of three-phase industrial electrical equipment
- Electrical, controls, or automation technical degree/certification preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in an active shop environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or on a team
