Electrical Engineering Group Lead
Chaska, MN | Direct Hire | $140,000–$175,000 | Hybrid
Konik is partnering with a highly specialized technology manufacturer seeking a Senior Digital Electronics Design Engineer to lead a small, high-performing engineering team while remaining hands-on in the design and development of advanced electronic systems.
This role combines technical leadership, hands-on design, and cross-functional collaboration, supporting the development of complex mixed-signal control and data acquisition systems used in advanced manufacturing and scientific applications.

Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a small team (5–7) of electronics design engineers and technicians
- Design, prototype, test, and support mixed-signal electronic control systems
- Translate system-level requirements into detailed engineering specifications, timelines, and cost estimates
- Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and execution across multiple initiatives
- Partner with contract manufacturing vendors to ensure design for manufacturability and production success
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software, systems, and manufacturing teams on system integration and testing
- Support continuous improvement of existing electronics platforms, focusing on performance and reliability
- Contribute to long-term engineering strategy and annual planning efforts
- Maintain technical leadership through ongoing learning and application of emerging technologies
Qualifications
- 12 years of experience in mixed-signal electronics design within complex hardware/software systems
- Strong background in control systems and data acquisition/processing
- Experience with analog circuit design, including low-noise and medium-to-high voltage applications
- Proficiency with modern electronic design tools (schematic capture, PCB layout, simulation, firmware development)
- Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers (Python, C, or similar)
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing or mentoring engineering teams
- Strong project leadership skills, including planning, estimating, and risk management
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and understanding of design for manufacturability
