Koniag Advisory Business Solutions, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Biomedical Electronics Technician I to support KABS and our government customer in Billings, MT.

Koniag Advisory Business Solutions is hiring a fulltime Biomedical Electronics Technician (BMET) I to provide equipment maintenance support as required to maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, manufacturer, and patient safety requirements while minimizing equipment downtime and disruption to clinical operations.

Our client, the Billings Area Indian Health Service (IHS) requires BMET support services to ensure Government-owned medical equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational in support of patient care activities. The Billings Area includes healthcare facilities located throughout Montana and Wyoming.

The Billings Area currently requires a dedicated BMET resource to support preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, equipment inspections, equipment inspections, equipment lifecycle management, inventory management, and technical support activities across all five Service Units.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career biomedical or electronics technician looking to grow in a regulated healthcare environment while supporting a mission-driven organization.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect medical and diagnostic equipment
  • Complete preventive maintenance by scheduled due dates.
  • Maintain accurate and complete maintenance documentation.
  • Respond to equipment failures in a timely manner.
  • Perform repairs safely and correctly.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and maintenance records.
  • Support accreditation and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct.
  • Comply with all applicable IHS policies and procedures.
  • Perform electrical safety testing using specialized biomedical test equipment
  • Document all service activities in a CMMS in compliance with CMS and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards
  • Travel to remote clinic sites using a government-provided vehicle
  • Coordinate with the Biomedical Engineering team to procure parts, PM kits, and vendor services
  • Participate in required technical, administrative, and safety training

Required Qualifications

  • Possess an Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics
  • Technology, a related technical field, military BMET training, or equivalent experience.
  • Possess one (1) to two (2) years of biomedical equipment maintenance experience.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Complete all required background investigations, credentialing requirements, and facility orientation before beginning performance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic and mechanical systems
  • Manual dexterity and experience using hand and small power tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office or similar systems)

Clearance Requirement

  • Employee can start with an interim while clearance is obtained.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET).
  • Manufacturer-specific biomedical equipment certifications.
  • Other biomedical equipment-related certifications applicable to equipment maintained under this requirement.
  • Vocational, military, or on-the-job training in electronics/biomedical equipment
  • Experience in healthcare environments
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Prior IHS or federal healthcare experience

Work Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Occasional overtime as directed by the Biomedical Supervisor
