SUMMARY
A Lube Technician is responsible for performing oil changes and other related services on vehicles, ensuring they are in safe running condition while providing excellent customer service. Their duties include changing oil and filters, checking and topping off fluids, performing minor repairs, and conducting vehicle inspections.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Works alongside an assigned technician to learn to perform quality vehicle service maintenance and repairs.
- Completes Oil and Filter Changes: Perform oil changes and replace oil filters according to established procedures.
- Completes Fluid Checks and Fills: Check and top off engine oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, antifreeze, and brake fluid.
- Completes Minor Repairs: Replace light bulbs, fuses, and other minor components.
- Completes Vehicle Inspections: Inspect vehicles for safety issues and identify potential repairs.
- Completes Lubrication and Adjustment: Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts and components.
- Explains services and repair options in writing to customers in a professional manner.
- Completes Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures.
- Completes additional tasks: May include tire rotations, battery testing, and other routine maintenance tasks, as needed.
- Delivers customer cars to service stalls as requested by technicians.
- Picks up parts from the parts department as directed by technicians.
- Performs safety inspections, oil changes, lubrication work, basic maintenance, and minor repairs as directed.
- Replenishs supplies as requested by technicians or the service manager.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Completes all maintenance services scheduled throughout the day
- Completes all Pre Delivery inspections as a certified tech.
- Follows up and complies with any decision made by Service Manager or supervisor to fulfill customer satisfaction and productivity level. Regardless of previous assignment, Bo parts or up sale.
- Attends training classes and departmental meetings.
- Operates all tools and equipment safely.
- Keeps up with all Manufacturer training, safety compliance training, OEM training, and security on a timely basis.
- Driving is essential to the position; must have a current valid driver's license and a clean driving abstract.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Assists the assigned technician as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Service Manager, General Manager, or Chief Operating Officer.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from ta wo-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) includes back braces, hand, head, foot, eye, face, and body protection. Goggles/eye protection, gloves, ear plugs, and back brace are provided by the organization and must always be included in their toolbox or workstation. PPE approved clothing/uniform and footwear, closed-toe, steel toes and slip-resistant soles, worn at all times.
