The Maintenance Technician will support manufacturing operations by ensuring the efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, building systems, and structural components.
Role and Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspections and tests of machinery and equipment
- Monitor equipment for unusual sounds that may indicate malfunctions, then collaborate with supervisors and maintenance team members to diagnose issues and implement necessary repair
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
- Install and repair electrical apparatus such as transformers, wiring, and components of machinery and equipment
- Design, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, including the repair and replacement of gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other components
- Repair and maintain building systems including water, compressed air, heating and air conditioning
- Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment
- Build and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures
- Requisition material and supplies to complete repairs and installations
- Follow safety rules and keep work areas in a clean and orderly condition
- Follow company policies and procedures diligently and effectively
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent work experience of 4-6 years in building and equipment maintenance, or a comparable combination of education and professional experience
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and producer manuals
- Write routine reports and correspondence and effectively communicate before groups of employees
- Apply basic mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Solve practical problems and a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization
- Use power and hand tools, forklift truck, electric cart, power lifts, and overhead crane
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and have the ability to climb, stand, stoop or kneel for extended periods of time
- Ability to travel to local vendors to pick-up needed material and supplies
