Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments.
- Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
- Disassembles machines and repairs or replaces broken parts.
- Adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
- Cleans and lubricates parts.
- Insures that safety procedures are observed.
- Performs other duties as requested.
- Must have worked in his/her job for at least 6 months.
- Must have no 2nd step corrective actions.
- Must currently be in a lower classification to be eligible to apply.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in maintenance mechanic classification is required.
- Some standing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
- Must project a cooperative and positive attitude toward customers, employees and the Company.
- Incumbent may be required to work overtime as required to meet schedules.
- Must comply with all environmental, quality and safety rules, practices and standards.
