Position Summary:
The Bus Monitor supports the safe and orderly transportation of students to and from school and school-related activities. This position works closely with the bus driver to supervise student behavior, assist with loading and unloading, and help ensure a positive and secure environment on the bus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise students while boarding, riding, and exiting the school bus to ensure safety and appropriate behavior
- Assist students, including those with special needs, in safely entering and exiting the bus
- Ensure students are seated properly and follow established safety procedures
- Maintain order on the bus and report disciplinary concerns to appropriate school officials
- Communicate effectively with the bus driver regarding student needs or issues during routes
- Monitor and assist with the use of safety equipment, including seat belts and wheelchair restraints if applicable
- Provide support during emergency situations, including evacuations, following established protocols
- Maintain a respectful and supportive environment for all students
- Complete required reports and documentation as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience working with children, preferably in a school or childcare setting

This position is for a minimum of 5 hours per day and follows the student calendar. This position is for the 2026-2027 school year.
