Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble a variety of deli foods, including sandwiches, salads, packaged, and hot items, following established recipes and food safety guidelines
- Operate the scale and labeling machine accurately and efficiently
- Assist customers with selections, answer questions about products, and promote upselling opportunities to enhance sales
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including food handling, bussing tables, and sanitizing work surfaces
- Ensure proper food storage, rotation, and inventory management to minimize waste and uphold food safety standards
- Support team members in quick service environments by providing excellent customer service and efficient food preparation
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food preparation and or a deli is preferred
- Understanding of kosher rules and standards (or willing to learn)
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus but not required
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell products confidently
- Experience working in a grocery store or retail environment is advantageous
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting supplies sometimes 50lbs or more.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
