Upton Industries, a Kolene Company is seeking a skilled Bricklayer/Refractory Mason to join our fabrication team. This is a unique opportunity to train alongside one of our experienced craftsmen before his upcoming retirement, ensuring a smooth transition and setting you up for long-term success.
Unlike traditional masonry work, you'll work indoors year-round in our fabrication shop constructing ovens for custom industrial furnaces and thermal processing equipment used by manufacturers throughout the world.
What You'll Do
- Install refractory brick and related materials in industrial furnace assemblies
- Measure, cut, fit, and lay refractory brick to precise specifications
- Read blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Work closely with experienced fabricators and welders
- Produce high-quality work with pride in craftsmanship
- THIS IS NOT A VOLUME PRODUCTION POSITION
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of bricklaying, masonry, or refractory experience, preferably building heavy industrial equipment
- Additional experience is highly valued
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform layout work
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings is required
