Schedule:
Monday – Friday 11:30 am – 8:00 pm
Position Summary:
The primary role of the Laser Operator – 2nd Shift is to convert rolls of labels on the digital laser. The shift for this position will be split into two parts: the first half of the shift will be spent assisting different departments depending on the current workload in production. The second half of the shift will be spent operating the laser to convert rolls of labels once the operators from the first shift have left for the day.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand different materials and thicknesses to identify the correct settings to use on the laser
- Load rolls of materials from the Screen press onto the Spartanics laser and cut or laminate according to the sales order information
- Monitor labels for quality issues and report those to the Screen operators for defective product to be reprinted
- Troubleshoot issues with the Spartanics laser and reach out to the machine technicians for support
- Sort and package finished product as requested by the customer and deliver to the shipping area when completed
- Assist in different departments each day depending on current workload in production
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi task ensuring orders are completed on time
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with programs such as illustrator, adobe, and excel
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience with computer numeric control (CNC) machines and printing machinery is preferred
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, and be on your feet throughout the day
- Occasionally required to bend and squat
- Required to use hands/fingers for precise cutting
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Competitive Hourly Rate and Comprehensive Benefits Package Including:
- Base rate range between $19.50-$21 /hour plus the opportunity for overtime on an as needed basis
- Total compensation (including benefits below valued at $7/hr) valued between $26.50-28/hour
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.50 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
