As a Robotics & Automation engineering associate, you are the first line of defense for our automated systems. You’ll bridge the gap between complex software and heavy-duty hardware, work hand-to-hand with experienced engineers and specialists to ensure our robotic and automated systems run smoothly, efficiently and safely. This role is perfect as an entry point to build a career as an automation/robotic engineer or specialist.
Responsibilities:
- Daily support of robot programming, troubleshooting and creating file backups. This often requires a hands-on approach in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strictly follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and ensure all robotic safety guarding is functional.
- Work closely and coordinate with production, maintenance and scheduling department to support daily die changes and automation/robotic programming activities from beginning to end.
- Support troubleshooting issues related to Fanuc robots and Allen Bradley/Omron PLC of the current equipment.
- Help maintain proper documentation for PLC logic, Electrical and Control procedures and standards.
- Attend technical training to learn and apply applicable innovative processes.
- Constant communication and support different departments (maintenance, engineering, quality, production, etc.).
- Assist in the hardware assembly and software configuration of new robotic systems during the “build up” phase of automation projects.
- Identify mechanical or electrical “weak points” and collaborate with the design team to implement engineering changes that increase reliability and improve cycle times.
