Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as Unanet, InFocus, Clearview..
- Prepare and record journal entries accurately, ensuring proper debits and credits in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Perform bank reconciliations and account analysis to verify the accuracy of financial data.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation regularly to uphold data integrity across all financial statements.
- Support budgeting activities by providing detailed account analysis and financial insights for decision-making.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and other documentation necessary for internal review or external audits.
- Handle governmental accounting requirements when applicable, ensuring adherence to relevant standards.
- Maintain meticulous records of all transactions, including bank transactions, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics or a related field with 5 years’ of work experience as a bookkeeper.
- Proven experience working as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a focus on corporate or non-profit accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Unanet, InFocus, Clearview is preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and double-entry bookkeeping principles is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and account analysis accurately.
- Excellent understanding of financial concepts, including debits & credits, journal entries, and financial report writing.
- Experience managing accounts payable/receivable workflows, along with payroll processing, is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, with strong Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy in financial reporting.
- Exceptional Client Relations skills with our Clients/Vendors/Visitors and internal departments
