Location: Hybrid, 3 days a week in office/Glendale, WIRehlko is looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, improving internal processes, and mentoring junior accounting staff. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, supporting month-end close activities, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This position will report to the Sr. Accounting Manager and will work closely with other departments to support business objectives.Specific responsibilitiesReporting Payroll, Payroll Taxes, Benefits, and Insurance: Calculating, posting, review, and reconciliation of benefits for US-based entities, ensuring completeness and accuracy of liabilities and expenses.Support cash applications for select bank accounts, investigating and posting adjustments when needed.Support Human Resources in benefits calculations and scenarios, procurement of services and posting to correct GL accountsSupport Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.Balance Sheet: Perform account reconciliation, cash accounting and posting analysis, benefits and compensation analysis.Month-End Close: Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany transactions, intercompany eliminations, and variance analysisInternal Controls: Strengthen and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets, improve accuracy, and support financial reporting.Audit Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits, preparing and providing necessary documentation and responses to audit inquiries.Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations and improve financial reporting accuracy. Document existing process, background, and items affected by transactions when needed.Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior accountants, ensuring high-quality work and continued professional development.Collaboration: Work with the finance, FP&A, and other teams to support budgeting and forecasting processes. Requirements:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field2-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with increasing responsibility.Experience in GAAP/IFRS accounting standards and practices in multi-location, multi-currency environmentStrong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.Proven ability to lead month-end close processes and manage complex reconciliations.Preferred: Master's Degree or CPAPreferred: Proficiency with accounting software SAP, BPC, OneStream and advanced Excel skills.Preferred: Experience in the energy or manufacturing industries
