The Role
As a Lending Specialist, you'll be at the heart of helping our members achieve their dreams. You'll guide them through loan options, ensure smooth communication with underwriting, and make certain funds are disbursed accurately and on time. In this role, you directly contribute to both our members' financial goals and the credit union's success-turning everyday interactions into meaningful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide members through loan options and the application process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely disbursement.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships by understanding member needs and offering tailored credit union products and services.
- Proactively drive business growth through timely follow-up, outbound and inbound calling, referrals, and community connections.
- Maintain complete and compliant documentation for all loan transactions and activities in accordance with credit union, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate across departments to deliver seamless member experiences and support team members with training on lending policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as needed to help achieve the credit union's goals and objectives.
What You'll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in finance, business, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in lending, financial services, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of consumer lending products, underwriting, and regulatory guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills with a member-focused, relationship-building approach.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and confident in problem-solving and multitasking.
