Koehler Instrument Company is seeking a Domestic Sales Manager to lead and support sales growth across the United States. This role is intended for someone with strong sales experience, good customer relationship skills, and the ability to manage opportunities, follow-ups, and account development in a technical sales environment.
The Domestic Sales Manager will be responsible for driving domestic sales activity, supporting key accounts, developing new business opportunities, managing customer follow-ups, and working closely with internal sales, technical, service, marketing, and management teams. This is an in-person position based at our Holtsville, NY office.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow domestic sales opportunities across the United States.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, laboratories, manufacturers, distributors, and end users.
- Follow up on leads, inquiries, quotations, and open opportunities to drive sales closure.
- Support account development, territory planning, and customer outreach strategies.
- Work with internal teams to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate Koehler products.
- Maintain accurate CRM records for calls, meetings, quotes, opportunities, and customer follow-ups.
- Monitor outstanding quotes, active deals, and sales pipeline activity.
- Identify new business opportunities within existing and prospective accounts.
- Coordinate with service and technical teams on customer needs, product questions, and after-sales support.
- Support customer visits, product demonstrations, trade shows, and sales presentations.
- Provide regular updates to management on sales activity, pipeline status, customer feedback, and market trends.
Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant sales experience preferred, ideally in laboratory equipment, scientific instruments, industrial equipment, petroleum, petrochemical, lubricant, chemical, or technical markets.
- Prior experience managing accounts, territories, sales pipelines, or sales teams is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, follow-up, negotiation, and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to understand technical products and explain product value to customers.
- Experience using CRM systems to track activities, opportunities, and customer interactions.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
- Comfortable speaking with customers by phone, email, video call, and in person.
- Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
- Local to Long Island or the surrounding area and able to work in person at our Holtsville, NY office.
Preferred Experience
- Experience selling to laboratories, refineries, lubricant manufacturers, fuel testing labs, inspection companies, chemical companies, or industrial customers.
- Familiarity with ASTM, ISO, petroleum testing, lubricant testing, quality control laboratories, or analytical instruments is a strong plus.
- Experience managing sales representatives or supporting a domestic sales team is preferred.
- Background in technical sales, application sales, or capital equipment sales is highly recommended.
